- Cylinder head and Valves
The cylinder head is made of cast iron and octagonal prismatic shape. It is equipped with two inlet valves, two exhaust valves, a fuel injector, a safety valve, a starting valve and a indicator valve. The exhaust valve is valve cage type and can easily be withdrawn without dismantling the cylinder head. Two rocker arms, pivoting on a bracket fixed on the cylinder head, drive two inlet and two exhaust valves respectively.
- Piston and piston ring
The piston is monoblock type made of nodular cast iron or composite type with special steel crown and aluminum alloy skirt. Each piston has compression and oilscraper rings and is cooled by lubricating oil in shaker type cooling method.
- Fuel injection system
Each cylinder is equipped with a fuel injection pump.The cam shaft is carried by bearings which are directly fastened to the fuel pump body, so as to avoid the transmission of heavy stress to the engine frame when the fuel is injected. The high pressure pipe between each fuel pump and injector is short and of equal length that helps to realize correct injection.
- Cylinder
Cylinder liner made of high grade cast iron is inserted into water jacket and forms cooling water chamber. As to the upper part of cylinder liner, bore- cooling system makes effective cooling. The lower part of cylinder liner slides in the engine frame to avoid the thermal stress. The steel frame is not in contact with the cooling water so as to avoid the risk of corrosion. The annular chamber provided between the water jacket and the engine frame eliminates the risk of lubricating oil contamination by accidental cooling water leakage.
- Connecting rod
Connecting rod is made of forged special steel. Drilled oil passage is provided in the shank for the cooling of piston. The big-end and small-end bearing carry steel backed copper-lead bearing shell with lead-tin overlay.
- Frame
The frame is fabricated structure of steel plate and cast steel parts, and is in the form of box section girder with high rigidity.
- Crankshaft
The crankshaft is one piece type made of forged special steel and has balance weights on the every crank webs to decrease the mechanical load on the main bearings.
- Main bearing
Main bearing is hunger type with high rigidity and bearing shell is copper- lead lined metal with lead-tin overlay.
